This series of postcards designed for the Academy of American Poets feature excerpts from poems written by the upcoming year's twelve Poem-a-Day Guest Editors at Poets.org. The set is gifted to donors as part of AAP's end of year appeal and has a print run of ~3k.
Nothing made me happier at the time than having the opportunity to illustrate and design a second set of postcards for the Academy. Blessed with a bigger budget and more production time, I was able to tackle what I felt were more visual poems and dig deeper into them and their creators. Feeling more at ease and confident within the process, I also found myself starting to bring more of my experiences into the illustrations, with references to my grandfather and late great golden retriever, Kamal –both incredibly missed.
